Target Field Fire Makes Headlines but no-one is hurt and the games will go on..

Target Field got another first this past week, first accident. Target Field was on fire for a short time on Sunday evening when a gas powered power-washer started a blaze on one of the concourses. No-one was hurt and the Target Field Sprinkler System put out the flames before the fire department arrived. The Minneapolis Fire Department said the Target Field Fire was minor and that due to the few damages and no structural concerns, the Minnesota Twins’ home field would not need to be shut down at all. Target Field crews worked quickly to clean up the damage and replace a few broken ceiling tiles in a suite, and had Target Field up and running in time for Tuesday’s Minnesota Twins Game against the Colorado Rockies.

Target Field Gold Glove on Target Plaza proves to be a popular photo spot

Minnesota Twins Fans inside the Gold Glove on Target Plaza
If you have been to a Minnesota Twins Game at Target Field or have seen someone's Target Field pictures, you likely can picture the Golden Golve. Oversized and glistening the Target Plaza Gold Glove has turned into the must-take picture location at Target Field.

Minnesota Twins fans are standing in line, sometimes long lines to sit in the glove and snap a picture. If you have Minnesota Twins Tickets for Target Field, I suggest going early to the game or staying late if you plan on taking a picture from the glove.

Although most fans typically pick the traditional sitting pose, if you wait long enough you can see people trying more daring poses inside the Target Plaza Gold Glove.

Limited Parking Near Target Field does not bother Minnesota Twins Fans

Twin Cities Lightrail provides Target Field Parking alternativeAlthough parking in and around Target Field is limited, Minnesota Twins fans have not seemed to mind. Along with several parking ramps and surface lots that provide parking near Target Field, Twins fans have also seemed to embrace the Lightrail and its ability to get you right up to the Target Field Gates.

One Twins fan noted, "the Lightrail is a great option, I parked really close to the stop on Lake Street and road it right to the Gates, I never would have gotten this close if I had parked and getting home was so much faster than the traffic on I94, the Lightrail is the best way to "park" near Target Field!"

Minnesota Twins fans are eager to host the New York Yankees at Target Field

Target Field view from Section 301After the pair of losses in New York, I think Minnesota Twins fans are even more excited for the Yankees to show up at Target Field a week from today. I know I can't wait for the Yankees (who think they are "all that") to see Target Field and all it's glory. The Yankees aren't the only team in baseball that have a stadium to be proud of and I think they will be humbled when they roll into town.

I bet local sports stars like Minnesota Timberwolves star rookie, Jonny Flynn, who is a New York native, will likely be at one of the Twins Yankees games next week, but celebrity support or not, Minnesota Twins fans are more excited than ever that this Yankees Twins series can go our way.

Before the Yanks arrive, the Minnesota Twins will host Milwaukee this weekend and I am betting there will be plenty of Milwaukee Brewers fans who make the trip to Target Field. Be ready to be wowed, Brewers and Yankee fans! Target Field is the best!

Rain can't slow the Minnesota Twins down, after a rain-out the 1st Target Field Double Header went great!

Minnesota Twins Fans waiting outside Target Field in the rain
Last Saturday the Minnesota Twins played a double header against the Baltimore Orioles due to a rain out on Friday. Despite a few disappointed fans who couldn't make it to Target Field on Saturday, the first rain delay game went off without a hitch.

The Minnesota Twins lost 3-7 in the first game and came back for game two to win 6-1... proving to Twins Fans that rain outs are not something to be feared. The Minnesota Twins Roster will be able to handle playing back to back games just fine. With clear skies predicted for the weekend it is unlikely we will be seeing another rain out any time soon.
If there is a rain out, don't stress... Twins Tickets from the original game will be honored and you will be able to attend the re-scheduled game. If you can't make the re-scheduled game the refund/exchange policy varies depending on where you purchased your Twins Tickets.

Heading to Target Field? Need help parking? Check out these tips for Parking Near Target Field

Cars parked at stret parking level
If you are heading to Target Field for a Twins Game anytime soon you should have a parking plan in advance, although there are lots of options for parking near Target Field, it is downtown Minneapolis and parking can get a bit complicated.

I found these tips on the Target Field Website, check them out and make sure that you are a well-informed parker.

•Plan ahead and consider all transportation options available to you.
•The parking lot or ramp you have always used for Metrodome events may work well for Target Field events.
•Parking further away from Target Field may provide a quicker overall exit from an event.
•Be sure to allow at least 10 minutes for walking; 15-20 minutes if you are parked several blocks away.
•Rates vary based upon ramp and location. You can find rates for Minneapolis Municipal parking online

I suggest looking at the ramp on 7th or the surface level lot on 3rd, I have had the best luck there finding spots that are easy to get in and out of.
