According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the sports story of the 2010 year was the opening of Target Field. 
I, for one, agree with this point. As an avid Minnesota sports fan, Target Field is an absolutely phenomenal stadium and has done wonders for Downtown Minneapolis. This is what the article reads:"In what would become the story of the summer, the Twins opened Target Field in April to rave reviews and a sound victory over the Boston Red Sox. It was an unseasonably warm and sunny April afternoon, and the auspicious start was a sign of things to come."
